Dear Editor:
In response to the article “What Could Benefit Mexico is More Guns”, the writer made a statement that “gun maker’s” noticed in the United States, the crime rate have dropped even though there were an increase in the number of guns that people possesses. The writer then go on to say that Mexico could drop their crime rate by individuals owning more guns.
People should be concerned with what is going on in the United States and not put so much emphasis on what is taking place outside of the country. With the recent acciendently shooting of a teenager, who was left home unattended by an adult? I strongly disagree with the writer’s statement that an increase of guns will decrease the crime rate. There are far too many home invasions, accidents involving children and guns, and robberies. These are all due to the miss-handling of guns.
Being a parent I strongly suggest people, especially those with families to reconsider owning guns or at least educate your selves on how to handle and store guns safely.
Sincerely,
Ms. Angela
